HollisMercer’s HERNEST Media Console project brought furniture into real home settings through collaborations with home and interior creators. The content connected the console’s design, storage and role within a room, with the aim of helping viewers picture the piece in their own homes.

The product communication challenge
A media console is both a practical storage piece and a visual focal point. Its appeal depends on proportion, material appearance and how it sits alongside the rest of a room. A product page can describe those details, but buyers may still find it difficult to imagine the finished space.
The project addressed that information gap by placing the console in living rooms, family rooms and basements. These settings gave the product context: viewers could see its relationship to the room while exploring the features that mattered to them.
Creator content built around real spaces
Home and interior creators were the core collaboration category. The creative approach combined room styling with demonstrations of the wood finish, storage and door design. Three content formats carried that approach:
- Unboxing: introduce the console as it enters the home and bring attention to its appearance and details.
- Room transformations: show the piece within a living space, making its scale and styling easier to understand.
- Functional demonstrations: connect the console’s visual design with practical features, including storage and door operation.
Across these formats, the product’s setting was part of the explanation. The room showed how the console could fit into everyday surroundings, while closer demonstrations addressed individual features.

Connect inspiration with product discovery
The project approach included links in creator profiles, shopping links and discount information. These routes were intended to help interested viewers move from a room idea to further product information.
The resulting communications approach brought together three elements: relevant creators, real home settings and concrete design and function details. For this project, those elements formed the basis of the product story.
